1000 year ban is wild

I basically got perma banned for "packet manipulation" even though I do not use or have any cheat programs, I guess the server just couldn't handle my internet for some reason? But getting 1000 year ban for it is pretty wild.
Youre not banned for packet manipulation, youre banned for being a known mod stealer.

Ahh I see maybe then you must be a part of that certain guys toxic community then eh or what? Well I did once use similar XMLs in a mod like the other person but no custom assets or codes were taken so tbh it is really not that big deal after all and btw a lot of people do it except I got unlucky to fall into the mess with the guy who whined about it but thanks for clearing the reason but still giving a ban over some XML situation is still pretty wild but luckily there are much better servers to play in anyway. And maybe next time put that "mod stealing" as a banning reason not packet manipulation cuz that ban reason is still misleading lol. But ya GL with ur server lol.

You just admitted to taking XMLs from someone else’s work, which is mod theft.. plain and simple. Saying “everyone does it” doesn’t excuse it; it just shows you know it’s wrong and chose to do it anyway. Modding takes time and effort, and stealing even XMLs disrespects the people who actually create. That is why you were banned, not for packet manipulation. The decision is final, and the matter is closed.
Yea well it is still very small compared to custom assets especially if they were paid but ya do what ya want I don't really care. Making such a big deal over some XMLs is still kinda a joke and shows that maybe the person should not make xml mods or just focus on custom asset mods if other people "copying" hurts so much in the feelings or is too much to handle but I understand much more if it is about custom assets because those are definitely private property and could get law enforcements involved if stolen but XMLs are pretty much always involved in ingame property and are not as much people's property unlike the custom assets especially paid ones and it is always a risk taken when making xmls that anyone could borrow or use similar. But ya we have lots of different opinions about this but at least I think XML modding is something that lots of people can and likely copy or use similar so it is always a risk when making those. I don't personally mind if someone uses similar xmls from my mod(s) in theirs as long no custom assets are stolen especially paid ones cuz then I could even get law involved but not in plain XML side since so many mods nowadya use similar which I've seen a lot too. But ya anyway good luck lol.
The issue isnt that you used XMLs. Its that you did so without giving credit or asking the original author. In this community, its fine to take inspiration from others work.. what matters is showing respect by acknowledging the people whose effort made your content possible.
You chose not to do that, and you knew it.
Your ban was applied automatically after a report was made. The fact remains: you stole other peoples work, not necessarily ST7Ds, and that behavior has no place in our community.
Yea like I said we have different opinions about these. I usually ask permission or credit other's work if it is about custom assets or custom codes but not really in XMLs especially is those use ingame assets that are mainly property of the devs and not us, I would been fine crediting that one guy eventually if he didn't act like toxic hysterical guy who whines everywhere over minor things and ever since he made some stupid "expose" posts especially in reddit I decided no longer to give him any credit and I cut ties with him. Those mod arguments should've been handled privately and not whining to everyone like a little child lol. It would've been different if custom paid assets were involved. And banning someone on a server that has really nothing to do with things happening outside especially over XML situation is also pretty interesting and sus thing to do but ofc it is your decision since you're the owner of the server and I believe you have pretty close relationship with the guy who complained first about the mod argument but ya good luck lol.
The excuse that "its just base game assets" doesn’t hold up. What you took wasnt the devs assets.. it was the time, effort, and design choices another modder put into arranging and creating content with those assets. That work belongs to them, not you.
Our community values respect. You decided not to show any, and instead doubled down when called out. Thats why you were reported in multiple places, thats why the ban was applied, and thats why it will remain.

Yea well considering how big deal was made from it is pretty crazy and also hilarious tbh I guess and luckily there are many other servers to play in anyway and luckily not everyone like you "punish or ban" someone over some minor things that happen outside or especially over some XML situation or that the server admin(s) or owner stick their nose into everything overall. This server is currently the only one that reacted this way but so be it. I guess you have a close relationship with the guy who made the complaint and basically started the drama so then this ban situation would've made sense but still it is pretty hilarious and suspicious how you reacted to this. I never been banned in any 7dtd server yet lol except now from yours because of that xml drama lol. Some people are extremely sensitive I guess.

Not to mention "time, effort, and design" in XML is a risky thing to do anyway and many have to accept when making XML mods because lots of people very likely do copy or borrow these and if someone tries to sue someone over XML I am pretty sure law enforcements have a lot better and more important things to do than be involved in these, be happy that it is not the custom assets that people would easily could take or use and that is much more serious than just XMLs. :)
Like was said earlier, the ban is automated.. Any report that is made, our system picks up and automatically bans the EOS, XBL or Steam ID.
We have no idea who this person you keep referring to actually is, nor do we really care.
We arent making a big deal about it, you are the one that commented first.. and if it is/was not a big deal, surely you would not keep commenting or attempting to bait into a back and forth argument and laughing it off just to get the last word in. You keep responding, so we do too. If its not a big deal, stop responding.. it is that simple.
